MySQL Driver Error

MySQL Driver Error

Postby Omega16 » Tue Sep 20, 2011 5:43 am

Hello. I would like to install Mihalism Multi Host to my Linux box. I am running Debian 6 and XAMPP. Also the "dpkg --get-selections | grep mysql" returns me:

libdbd-mysql-perl install
libmysqlclient-dev install
libmysqlclient16 install
mysql-client install
mysql-client-5.1 install
mysql-common install

I created a user and the database and I uploaded the files. I entered the required data for install (host, databasename, user etc) and hit "Finnish Install".

I received this error:

"MySQL Driver Error

I have installed on my computer Debian 6 with VMware and also installed mysql, apache, php using aptitude. Then, i chmoded all files and folder to 777 (not good, but fast and just for testing). After all this, i succeded to install the script.

It seems that the script does not like XAMPP. Anyway, it would be nice if I could install using XAMPP. Thank you

Without knowing what the exact error was there's no way for us to determine the problem, that is why we ask everyone to include what is shown in the error logs which can be found in ./source/errorlog/(php5/mysql)

Now, even without knowing what the problem is I would have to guess that it was an issue with the installer. I use Uniform Server and for some reason it always gave me a MySQL error when trying to install it until I figured out that the "TYPE=MyISAM" parts needed to be changed to "ENGINE=MyISAM"

Yes, your are right. Changing in install.php file at "create table" syntax from Type=MyIsam to Engine=MyIsam worked 100%.

As a sugestion for your next release, I belive that it would be quite usefull to rebuilt the upload script: the images would upload in their year/month/day folder and not all the pictures to stay in the same folder.

So today is 21 september 2011, if I upload a image to go in ../images/2011/09/21/picture_name01.jpg.

I think it might be usefull for many reasons.

Thank you for your time Sir and please think about what i said.
